  1. Hi Sacred Heart,
Looks like you had fun with those dogs. Working with them seemed to be a good experience. What was the highlight of that session?

    1. Hi Bianca and Georgia,
Thanks for commenting on our blog. Yes, it was a really good experience to learn about how to be safe around dogs. The highlight of the session was when we got to practice patting the dog in a way that was safe for both the dog and us.

    1. Hi Christian,
Thanks for commenting on our Dog Safety post. We love dogs too. The most important thing we learnt was that you should always be cautious around a dog you don't know, and you can never be too careful.

It's great that you have learnt how to be safe around dogs. It's very important because some dogs can be very dangerous. What was your favourite thing that you learnt about dog saftey?

Yes, it's so important to be careful because you could get bitten or attacked.
One of our favorite, important things we learnt was if a dog attacks you, curl into a ball on the ground and cover your neck.

  4. Hello Sacred Heart Students
I looks like you all had a lot of fun learning about how to be safe around dogs because they might look cute but could be vicious.
What else did you learn about being safe around dogs?

    1. Hi Emma,
Thank you so much for commenting on this post.
Yeah, some dogs appear cute but could be angry, or scared and attack.
We learnt that when you approach a dog, let it sniff the back of your hand, then pat it under the chin. If you pat it on the head or nose, you are blocking the dogs vision, and it may attack.

    1. Hi Zac,
Thanks for commenting on our 'Dog Safety' post.
Yes, our class thought it was very informative, but at the same time we had fun.
We learnt some really great ways to be safe around dogs. You should never run from a dog, or stare it in the eyes. It is best to back away slowly, while keeping the dog in your peripheral vision.
